One thing that I continue to be surprised that I'm surprised by is how much dust and dirt can collect in a computer, even servers. I mean it makes sense when I think about it. The cooling fans move a lot of air through the systems, which means even if you have only a little bit of dust per unit volume, you'll be getting a lot of units volume moving through the machine.

Sometimes it's a little disturbing, really. As anyone who's worked with hardware can tell you, it's quite easy to get nicks and cuts from these things. Normally I wouldn't worry about them, but I don't want any of this stuff to get into a cut, however small, so I wear a lot more band-aids these days. Sometimes I feel like Les Nessman with all of them. (Let's see who recognizes that name!)
