Don't throw that old computer equipment away! If you have ancient computers, servers, monitors, etc that you no longer need and no one wants to buy, don't just toss it in the dumpster. See if there's someone local to you that can recycle them. At the very least, there's toxic elements in old components that have no business being in a landfill and thence in ground water. Aside from that, there are many recyclable materials in old computer hardware. There's gold, copper, silver and more on various contacts, there's rear earths, CRTs have lead, and so on. So you could get a bit of cash for taking the old stuff to the recyclers.
