Don't ever let it be said that I don't practice what I preach. Or at least, what I blog about. We have a larger order of hard drives that I'm working on, and in order to test them properly, I have multiple MD1000s set up. Originally I had two of them daisy chained. That is I had one MD1000 connected to another MD1000 which was connected to a PERC5e. I had a third MD1000 connected to the other port on the PERC card. I decided to move one MD1000 to another server, though, so as to balance the load and power a little better. We've had as many as six MD1000s connected to one RAID card before, with two chains of 3 machines, which I believe is the max the PERC5 will handle. I'll admit, looking at all those drive lights is pretty neat. Now if only I could get them to blink in sequence...
